London, England — Rodrigo Alves, 32, is a Brazilian flight attendant who is obsessed with his body image. In the last decade, he has undergone an extensive list of cosmetic procedures that include liposuction, Botox fillers, numerous implants, shaping procedures, and nose jobs.
A total of 42 operations costing him a whopping $400,000 — all to look like his life long idol “Ken Doll”.
However, his latest procedure may possibly be his last. Nine months ago, Alves had a nose job to top off his seemingly “perfect doll” looks. But he noticed something was amiss when a hole suddenly appeared above his right nostril. The hole got larger and he began to have difficulty breathing.
Local doctors confirmed that he had necrosis, a condition where tissue cells gradually begin to die. They were concerned it might become gangrenous, so he was rushed to a hospital in Malanga, Spain. He was admitted, and is now being treated through a round of antibiotics and IV drips.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Alves said: “I’m very upset and very worried. I’m very hot and feverish and doctors are giving me conflicting advice. I first got sent to an ears , eyes and nose specialist but then I got transferred to an infections specialist. It appears the skin inside my nose has died and I may need a complete reconstruction. I’ve been feeling unwell for several days but everything in Spain happens so slowly. I really want to get home and get expert treatment but I need another session on these drips. It is very frightening, I’ve been warned if it is not stopped, it could eat into my face.”
